What is Integrity Gasket?
Integrity Gasket is a formulated gasket that provides a uniform layer between the framing members and surface materials to reduce impact sound transmission through floors and walls, reduce floor vibration, and reduce squeaks.

What kind of material is the Integrity Gasket made of?
The Integrity Gasket is a closed-cell PVC material with a strong adhesive on the bottom and a smooth, durable Mylar top.

Do I peel off the top coating?
No. The coating allows for easy positioning of the floor panels and prevents the rough surface of the subfloor panel from damaging the closed-cell material.

Can I apply it in freezing temperatures?
As long as the joist is dry and free from dirt and water, the Integrity Gasket can be applied in freezing temperatures.

Can I apply it to wet joists and studs?
It is best to apply the gasket on dry joists and studs which are free of dirt, ice and water, however, it can be applied to damp surfaces by following special instructions. Specifically, you need to wipe the surface free of water, then you may need to staple the gasket at the beginning point and at 12" - 18" intervals, depending on how damp the wood is. The adhesive will stick as the joist drys. Steel surfaces should be free of oil.

Does it come with a warranty?
The manufacturer warrants the product to be free from defects and workmanship. Because the manufacturer cannot control the quality of application by workers at the job site, it does not assume the risk of injury, loss or damage, arising out of the use, misuse, or inability to use the product.

Do I need to use glue with the Integrity Gasket?
No, glue is not used with the Integrity Gasket.

How is the Integrity Gasket applied?
The Integrity Gasket is applied with a roll-along applicator.

Can I apply the gasket by hand?
Yes, the gasket can be applied by hand, however, application is much faster with the roll-along applicator.

How much is the roll-along applicator?
Retail prices will vary, however, suggested retail for the applicator is about $90.

What sizes does the gasket come in?
The Integrity Gasket comes in three standard sizes:

Can I get the Integrity Gasket in other widths?
     Yes, at a premium.

What kind of composite action do you get with the Integrity Gasket?
Independent tests of the Integrity Gasket on TJM-I-joists and steel joists has determined that the Integrity Gasket has no difference in load carrying capability or composite action between a standard nailed or screwed floor assembly and the Integrity Gasket floor or wall assembly.

Why should I use the Integrity Gasket?
Integrity Gasket offers the latest technology in construction to increase IIC value, reduce vibrations and squeaks. It's low density effectively reduces impact transmissions and helps isolate vibration through floors and walls. This increases IIC value and provides a quieter, more comfortable room.

The builder realizes time savings and fewer call backs (a 1200 square foot area can be covered in about 30 minutes); it goes down quickly, cleanly and uniformly so there's no messy clean up or untreated surfaces; it can be used in all seasons; and no special skill is required to install the gasket. Use of the Integrity Gasket demonstrates the builder's commitment to quality. [Back to Top]

How does it reduce sound transmission through floors and walls?
The Integrity Gasket has low density and is viscoelastic, which means that, in general, it is a poor transmitter of sound. This partial blocking of sound is due not only to the material, but also having two additional interfaces, one on each side of the gasket strip, that serves to reflect and dissipate sound energy.

What kind of fastener is recommended for use with the Integrity Gasket?
The manufacturer recommends the 8d ring shank nail or screws.

How do I know it will work?
Personal experience is always best. However, the experience of national builders who have been using it since its introduction attest to its claims for a quieter, more comfortable floor and wall systems.

How long has the Integrity product been on the market?
Materials similar to Integrity Gasket have been widely used in the commercial buildings and automotive industries for more than two decades. The development of the unique Integrity Gasket was introduced to the market about ten years ago, and has been successfully used in thousands of construction projects across the country.

Will it last?
